My mother has trouble managing her money. When she has €10 she spends €100. This always leads to a considerable debt, which she can no longer get out of on her own. Eating up her house is then always the only option. In the end there is of course nothing left, so she has nothing left to pay the debts. Of course, we as children want to prevent that. We also want her to have a good old age without worries. My mother understands that. One of the children has taken on the task of arranging her finances and giving her a certain amount of money every week. So far so good. However, we cannot stop her from getting into debt again with the VISA, work camp etc. With another debt in the end. How can we now arrange for her to no longer incur debts independently and still have a nice old age? By the way, my mother is over 70 and doesn't understand why she has all these debts. We think she is also starting to get dementia.
