Get your house key back - Legal Advice

A person I know won't give me my house key back. I did call and send two emails. Every day they promise to bring the key, but nothing happens. I don't like leaving home. The housing association won't let me just install a new lock. They are special keys that also open other doors.

What is stopping you from picking up the key yourself from this person? If you cannot do this yourself or find it undesirable, you can ask someone else to do it. If the person continues to refuse to give the key back, you could send him/her a registered letter with an urgent request to give the key to you. State in the letter that if this does not happen and you have the lock replaced, you will recover the costs from this person.
