Gutter repair costs: who pays?

I share a drainpipe at the front of our house with my neighbors. Now the drainpipe/gutter is leaking. Now the neighbor expects me to pay for the costs of repairing/cleaning the gutter and/or drainpipe. Is this reasonable??

If the problem is in the downpipe or in your part of the gutter, the costs will be at your expense. If the leak is in your neighbor's portion of the gutter, they will have to pay for the repair.
