Scam on Marktplaats? Get free advice!

Hello, last saturday i was scammed via marktplaats when i tried to buy tickets for an event. a little later i got a message from marktplaats that the seller was probably a scammer and i didn't have to transfer any money, but that was already too late. As far as I can see, there is very little you can do about it other than reporting it. You will most likely never get your money back from those people and the bank does not want to give back your own money that you transferred yourself. Isn't the bank financially supporting a criminal or criminal organization with this? Can a case be brought against the banks because of this? Because the banks ensure that these criminals can do their thing virtually unhindered. If you could get your money back immediately, it wouldn't be worth it for the criminals to defraud people, right?

Unfortunately, you can't do anything against the banks. The bank did what you asked, namely transferring money to a certain person. The bank is not allowed to just withdraw this money. The bank also does not ensure that criminals can go about their business unhindered, but Marktplaats does that by not checking whether the sellers of event tickets are reliable. That is why it is always advised to only buy tickets through official channels because the chance of fraud is very high if you buy tickets through other channels.

I agree with Mr Martens that your bank is not part of a criminal organisation, or supports it in any way (on the grounds you put forward). I do not directly agree with him that marktplaats.nl has an obligation to check whether sellers are reliable. We do not expect this from our local supermarket where you can place an offer on the advertising board, do we? In addition to receiving a message from marktplaats.nl that there may be fraud, you do not state whether this is actually the case. In other words, have you indeed been scammed?
