Travel allowance for commuting | Legal aid centre

I recently started working for a company. Distance from home to work is 160 kilometers per day. Am I entitled to travel allowance, and if so where can I complain if refused. I should mention that the office used to be in The Hague and recently moved to Laren, which is a difference of 80 kilometers per day. Please advise on how best to approach this.

There is no legal right to reimbursement of commuting costs if you have not agreed this with your employer when you were hired. To be on the safe side, also check your employment contract and the collective labor agreement that applies to your employer to see if there is anything about a travel allowance for commuting.
