Your friend is obliged to report the cohabitation to his administrator or curator and to ask his permission. If you have an income yourself, this will probably mean that the amount he can release will be smaller, as he can now share the cost of living with you. However, cohabitation has no effect on his financial obligations to you. The arrangement he has now does not become more advantageous for him. As long as you do not get married or enter into a registered partnership in community of property, you will not be liable for his current debts.
