Unjustified fine from Germany? Get free advice!

Questioner

I received an unjust fine from Germany. I was not in Germany at that time with 100% certainty. I also did not lend my car and it was not stolen. So it is really impossible. I can prove that I was in the Netherlands on that day, but I cannot prove that my car was actually in front of my door. The photo attached to the fine shows a man with a beard. This is clearly a different person than me. The photo only shows the driver and not the rest of the car. I also doubt whether there is any fraud involved here, because how else would this be possible? My license plate and address are correct. By the way, the license plate is not in the photo. What is the best thing to do now?

Lawyer

Have you checked that license plate yet? Is it yours? Have you now received the “Anhörung” or already the “Bußgeldbescheid”? If the “Anhörung” were to be received first, it would be sufficient if your answer showed that a mistake had occurred. If you have ever received the “Bußgeldbescheid”, it is a good idea to hire a German lawyer (I know one ;-)). He may inspect the file and make a decision on what would be best for you. PLEASE NOTE: Objection to the “Bußgeldbescheid” is of course possible 2 weeks after receipt (the date is stated on the yellow envelope)!
