Legal assistance with housing problems

I am 23 years old and still living at home with my mother. My father died suddenly two years ago. Unfortunately, he did not leave my mother well off financially. This means no life insurance, pension and no mortgage-free house, but fortunately no debts. My mother is now working hard to finance the house (she only pays the interest, but she can never pay off the house so that it becomes hers) which is going quite well, but she would like to move to a smaller house because she is already 55 years old. She also wants to buy a smaller house with 1 bedroom and pay it off until she is 67. Then she will no longer have room for me in the house. I have been registered with Woningnet for years, but I have not been able to find a rental house for two years. Can my mother just throw me out of the house? In other words, onto the street? I am of legal age but I am a resident. What rights do I have then? Suppose she moves and there is no room for me, what can I do?

It is indeed possible that your mother will put you on the street. Whether your mother can and does that, I will not and cannot judge. You will then respond to even more homes yourself and sit down with the housing association to see what the possibilities are to still get a home. Or possibly look at private sector homes.
