Building a Gazebo in the Garden: Permits and Regulations

I would like to build a gazebo in the corner of my garden, piles and poured 20cm from the rear and side fence. My rear and side neighbours will look at it above the fence when this is realised, the height will be approximately 2.70m, the question is can I build like this, suppose there is a complaint, what can I do about this

You should always check with the municipality whether you are allowed to build a certain structure freely or whether a permit is required.
