Legal advice on libel and slander

Questioner

I was a volunteer at an association and the board filed a complaint against me for embezzlement. In the complaint and their witness statements I was named as a suspect. I was recently interrogated and received a letter from the Public Prosecution Service; the case was dismissed, I was wrongly named as a suspect (01) supplemented with the fact that there were only assumptions in the complaint and witness statements. What can I do now against this association and against the people who reported me as a suspect? In addition, the person who filed the report also received a letter, but the grounds for dismissal are incorrectly worded to the outside world. They say that there was no evidence (that is grounds for dismissal 02). What can I do against the people who are once again spreading false information?

If they wrongly accuse you of an act and your name is wrongly smeared, you can file a complaint for defamation/slander at one of the police stations.

As annoying as it may be for you, filing a complaint for libel or slander is pointless. There is a good chance that the police will indicate that it is now a civil matter and will not even file a complaint. In addition, the public prosecutor will most likely not prosecute. But in civil law the chance of success is also very small.
