Contractor Liability: Free Legal Advice

Questioner

We have lived in an apartment since 2000. Over time, we noticed a number of cracks in a number of rooms, which we thought were shrinkage/creep cracks. A structural engineer saw, through vendoscopic examination, a number of roof panels without expansion joints. This explained a large number of cracks in our building. To what extent can we hold the contractor liable for this?

Lawyer

If research has shown that there is a construction error due to the contractor, then he can be put in default by means of a letter. You can do this or a lawyer can do it on your behalf. You must put the contractor in default and request him to come up with a free solution within a reasonable period. If he does not want to cooperate, then this can be enforced through the court.
