Bought a car with hidden defects? Get legal advice!
Questioner
I bought a car at the end of August that had just been inspected by a car dealer (with rdw) and now everything seems to be wrong with the car. I emailed the car dealer about it and he called and started cursing etc. that I signed for that car and he doesn't have to do anything for me. In the meantime I'm trying to sell the car myself via marktplaats etc. and people keep coming to look and say that the car is extremely dangerous, the steering box is broken, the clutch is bad etc. etc. so really extremely dangerous. In the meantime I'm still stuck with this car and I wonder if I can still do something against this car dealer?Lawyer
The chance that you can successfully address the car dealer is small, due to the time lapse from the date of inspection to now. It can no longer be properly demonstrated that the car was indeed wrongly approved. In addition, there is also a duty of investigation by the buyer, which goes quite far with old cars.
