Information about mobile homes and movable property

This will concern transitional law resulting from a changed zoning plan. I think that around 1992 the zoning plan of the location where your mobile home is located was changed. If your caravan was allowed to be on the location according to the old plan, but not according to the new plan, then you are still allowed to stay there even though this is in conflict with the rules of the new zoning plan.

However, the old Civil Code had a different definition of immovable property. Based on the Transitional Act for the new Civil Code, the owners of things that were considered movable under the old law also remained owners under the new law. This therefore also applies to mobile home owners.

As far as I know, the introduction of the new Civil Code in 1992 did not change the movable status of caravans.
