I am 17 years old and am following a vocational education (MBO) course. I have been sleeping at friends' houses for 4 weeks now. I don't dare sleep at home anymore because my brother is often violent, and this has been reported to the police. I do not receive student finance from DUO. I can't live with my friends much longer and wants to have something independently, such as a home or room. Last week I reported to the social neighborhood team but they have not responded yet. What am I entitled to?

The problem is that you are not entitled to student finance or social assistance benefits until you are 18. Until then, your parents are required to support you. Is it possible for your parents to contribute financially? Otherwise, you may be able to contact a Youth Care Agency in your area. In any case, good luck.
