Earning extra money while on sick leave: What are the rules?
Questioner
I have been on sick leave at the UWV since December 15. Before that I was on unemployment benefits. The situation was until June 2014 that I worked 4 days as an employee, and 1 day for my own company. When I lost my job I ended up on unemployment benefits for 32 hours. Then I became depressed and am now on sick leave, and now receive a sickness benefit. In the meantime my old employer occasionally hires me as a self-employed person. I then work from home. When I was on unemployment benefits I always reported this, and my benefit was reduced. But with the sickness benefit this is not so clearly arranged. Now I would like to know, are you allowed to earn extra money while on sick leave? And if so, how much? At the UWV I keep getting different answers.Lawyer
No, you must report all income to the UWV and it will then be settled.Take the next step
