Assistance with registration and family debts
Questioner
My 19 year old son who has not lived with me as a father for years (we also have no contact) has registered himself at my address against my will and explicit wish. (He says, I have not yet received any message from the municipality about the registration) He is a criminal, has many debts and says that if bailiffs come to my door I now have to pay these debts because he is now registered at my address. I have remarried, with a prenuptial agreement, the house is in the name of my partner. This would be very easy, he wanders around, doesn't live with me, is 19 years old and has a lot of debts and now I have to pay???Lawyer
You should go to the municipality immediately and ask them to deregister him from the address and to start an address investigation into your son. If that investigation shows that he does not live there, he will be deregistered and labeled as destination unknown. Make sure that you have proof from the municipality that you can then show to the bailiff. Also immediately inform the municipality that you do not want someone to register again without your permission.Questioner
I have not yet received any letter from the municipality stating that he has been registered at our address. I assume that this has not happened yet, at least I assume that the municipality sends a message that someone has been registered to whom I can respond. I also don't receive any mail for him and I don't get any bailiffs at the door. If this happens I will implement your answer but so far it seems like a false alarm.Lawyer
It is wise to always inform yourself.so that you can prevent the misery. prevention is better than cure.Questioner
