Travel time and collective labor agreement: Your rights clarified

Questioner

I have a question about travel time. I am in the small metal collective labor agreement. I live 40 km from the company, so I drive to the office at 5 in the morning and pick up my things and my colleague's. we drive to rotterdam at 6 o'clock and work there from 7 o'clock until about 4 o'clock in the afternoon. We then get on the bus again to the company where we often arrive late due to traffic jams, most of the time around 17:30 and then I have to go even further home, in short I work 13 hour days and I get paid for 8 hours of work and 1 hour of travel, they say it is according to the collective labor agreement, but I doubt that.

Lawyer

Good morning, I looked up the CAO for you and I don't read anything about mandatory travel allowance. I do think that this is a lot of traveling for little compensation. If you want, I will look into it to try to make it easier for you to travel.
