Resigning? Calculate your notice period
Questioner
I would like to resign from my current employer where I have been working since 2-3-2012. Now it is not entirely clear to me how long I have to work out. The following is stated in the CAO: By termination by the employee. When terminating the employment contract, the following notice period, starting on Saturday, the following must be observed: a. one week, if the probationary period has ended and the employment contract has not yet been in effect for 2 years has lasted, regardless of the period between successive payments; b. at least as many weeks as the employment contract after his majority periods of two full years, regardless of the period between successive payments, provided that the notice period for this reason shall not exceed six will take weeks. How long exactly do I have to work out? I would like to hear from you.Lawyer
Even logically I say four weeks. After all, your employment contract has lasted for more than four years. Based on section b of the article from the CAO you should convert the number of years you have worked to the number of weeks and that is the notice period. If you have worked for four years, this is two periods of two years and your notice period is therefore four weeks. I hope you understand my calculation. Otherwise, feel free to contact me.Questioner
I think 3 weeks myself. 1 week for the first two years and after those two years 1 week per year. To be on the safe side I just keep it to 4 weeks. Thanks.Take the next step
