Requesting a deposit back after renting a holiday home
Questioner
Hello, A few months ago we rented a holiday home in the Ardennes with a group of friends. When we left, the owner walked through the house with us to check for damage. There were some minor damages that we as a group agreed to. The remaining deposit would be transferred to us via the travel agency. However, it is now almost half a year later and we still have not received our deposit (after much email and telephone contact). We are constantly being sent from pillar to post, while we do not see the problem. Is there a way we can legally force the tour operator and the owner to transfer the rent at short notice?Lawyer
Of course this is possible, because the travel organization is legally in default and does not comply with what was agreed. The inspection went well and was concluded. So the deposit must be paid back. If you wish, you can contact me directly for further information.Lawyer

I advise sending a registered letter in which you summon the company to refund the amount within a period of, for example, 14 days. If this is not complied with, then further steps are desirable and possible.Neem de volgende stap
