Last year I took out an 'Always discount' subscription on my daughter's public transport card. You can buy this product online (where you have to enter the card number) at Qbuzz, and then you have to activate this product on your card at a top-up point. You do not receive any proof of this last action. Now it turns out (because I took out a new subscription) that the discount was not applied to all journeys travelled last year. The top-up of the subscription on the card probably failed. As a result, I missed out on approximately €440. Qbuzz is willing to reimburse me for the costs of the subscription of €175, but they do not want to go any further. They think that I should have checked this myself. Are they right? I obviously don't think so... Do you have any ideas about this?

Lawyer

Q-Buzz is right in that you should have checked whether the discount was included with the new subscription. Whether this argument is reasonable is questionable. The compensation that was offered to you is, however, very lenient and I would wholeheartedly accept it. Unfortunately, it had to happen this way. Thanks for your answer. Isn't it strange that you have to be a computer genius to even be able to buy a subscription, let alone check that it works? Do you know how that works? I think I will accept the offer from Qbuzz. Then it's just my bad luck. But it's ironic... Yours sincerely

You could file a complaint about this, including the fact that it is not possible to see whether the discount has been activated.
