Legal Assistance with Cohabitation Contracts
Questioner
Day, My ex and I recently broke up. We own a house together (in both our names). At the moment I am living with my parents again and he still lives in our house. He plans to transfer the house to his name by the end of this year (this is also possible according to the Mortgage Broker), but he still needs to save some money for this. Now it is the case that all fixed costs (mortgage, gas and electricity, TV/internet, waste disposal tax, water) are deducted from my account. We have a cohabitation contract in which it is stated that we are responsible for these costs in proportion to our income. However, my ex has not paid this month, which means that I have paid all the above costs while he is using them. What are my rights and obligations in this situation? How can I make sure he still pays his share of the costs? Thank you in advance!Lawyer
You must ensure that the cohabitation agreement is dissolved, otherwise you will continue to be responsible for the costs. You must both pay the costs in proportion, if your ex-husband was able to pay that last month, then this is not according to the agreement that you both drew up and you can hold your ex-husband accountable for this.Neem de volgende stap
