Assistance with car damage and legal questions

Questioner

Good afternoon, On 23/10 I had a breakdown with my car for which ANWB was called in for help. They found a problem with the gearbox after which the car was towed to Chrysler garage. The garage called me later and said that the steering gear had to be repaired for 700 euros. I picked up the car on 25/10 and on the way home the same breakdown returned. ANWB was called in again and they found the same problem with the gearbox again. Contacted Chrysler and repair costs are now € 3500. There was no problem with the steering beforehand. Chrysler is not prepared to settle (in my opinion unjustified) costs incurred. What is your opinion on this?

Assuming exactly the same problem: not paying the first (not yet) but also the second invoice because Chrysler apparently did not perform the repair properly the first time. That is a statement that you must be able to substantiate. The garage is expected to state that there is a completely different defect. And that is a technical story. Try to get in touch with the ANWB mechanic. They will have made a short report of the defect.
