I received a new kitchen from the housing association. During installation by the contractor, a lot of damage was caused to my wooden floor (leak discovered too late). Can I hold the contractor or the housing association liable?

In principle, you should complain within a reasonable period of time if damage has occurred. If the kitchen turns out to be defective or has not been installed properly, causing damage as a result of a leak, you can put the contractor in default. You are wise to report the damage to your insurer first. If the damage cannot be claimed, the landlord can also be held liable.
