I am self-employed, have disability insurance and have been disabled since 2006 and will remain so. THE INSURANCE COMPANY however says, nothing to do with it, the insurance expires next year whether you are working or disabled, it ends. Is this correct? I am ill, can they just stop the benefit?

If your policy states that your insurance will expire in 2013, then the insurance will stop. However, that is separate from the question of whether the insurance must pay you if you are still disabled. That benefit can continue after that, depending on your insurance policy. So it is important to look at your policy.
