Who pays for leaks: buyer or seller?

Before the preliminary purchase contract I saw 2 leaks in the attic. The building technical report says that the chimneys urgently need maintenance. Who should pay for this or fix it. The buyer or the seller.? Someone told me that that is what the sellers have to do. t .

The defects were known to you at the time of signing the purchase agreement, partly through your own observation and partly based on the construction report. In that case, the costs of repair will be at your expense. This can only be different if the seller has concealed and/or camouflaged invisible defects, which is not the case here.
