Legal questions about performance reviews
Questioner
Hello, next Thursday I have a performance review. Now it is on my regular day off. When I ask if I will be paid for this time, I am told that I should feel honored that I am having this review and therefore not being paid for it. In my opinion, it is on behalf of my employer and work-related, so it should just be paid for. I have to go to work especially for it. So taking travel time and interview time into account, it seems really strange to me that I should feel honored. Are they allowed to do that? Let me come in unpaid on a voluntary basis?Lawyer
Performance reviews should be scheduled during working hours. Is that not possible in your case?Questioner
Yes, that is certainly possible..but there will be a regional manager who will do it..I saw her once and she really wants it on that Thursday..Lawyer
A performance review should take place with the direct supervisor and not with the regional manager. You should receive an agenda for the review in good time. In addition, the previous report should be discussed so that it can be checked what did/didn't come of it.Take the next step
