Free legal advice for membership problems

Hello, Firstly, sorry I can only write in english. Secondly, I'm sorry if I shouldn't be asking this question here. I am looking for free legal advice. I am a member of a hockey club in Amsterdam and need to leave the club. I received a Registration Form by email when I signed up. It states in there if I want to leave I need to notify them before 1st May (Season starts in September). If I do not notify them before the 1st May theywill charge me for the next season in full-which is 350 EUR. 350 EUR This charge is completely excessive and unreasonable and I refuse to pay it. I have've given them more than enough notice that I want to leave, I do not believe for a second the inconvenience Caused is worth this amount. Am I legally obliged to pay this fee? They can take me to court if I don't pay? This is a social club where people play sports as a hobby for fun. I am wondering if they have any right to charge fines us in this way? If you had not given a notice on time you are obliged to pay the full year: I assume is it an 'association'?

Yes I believe it is an association. They said we must cancel before 1st May. The current season didnt end until middle of June and the new season starts in September. They are asking for 4 months notice. Is that not excessive or are they allowed to set a notice period as long as they like?
