Questioner

My father recently passed away. He had a will stating that everything was for his 2nd wife. Now my mother passed away 23 years ago and we did not receive our child's share because we did not want our father to have financial difficulties. My father lived in a rented house and did not have much money. Are we still entitled to our child's share? We don't know how it was arranged then.

Lawyer

You are probably still entitled to what your mother left behind and that remained under the management of your father. In addition, you are entitled to a so-called legitimate portion for what your father leaves behind net.
