Hail Damage Camper: What To Do? | Free Legal Advice
Questioner
We have hail damage on the roof of the camper. Now the insurance wants us to have an anti-hail roof installed instead of repairing it. This adds about 25 to 30 kg of extra weight. We are already at the limit of 3500 kg and only have a BE driving license. Can they force us to have that anti-hail roof installed? Thanks in advance for your answer.Lawyer
That is possible in itself. The policy conditions are decisive here. The insurer may impose additional conditions on the insured regarding coverage, but must ensure that in this case you do not get into further trouble with your driving license. Perhaps a different method of repair can ensure that you have less weight with the camper. I advise you to inform the insurer about this in writing and ask for an alternative.Take the next step
