Employee rights: Toilet visits and working hours

Questioner

Can an employer forbid an employee to go to the toilet under the guise of 'do it during your break or before/after work hours. I use medication that causes me to urinate little to not at all during the day (after taking the medication), but after 8 pm I have to urinate more often than normal. Holding it until the break or end of work hours is not an option.

It seems to me that your employer will have to take this into account. Perhaps you can substantiate your arguments using the package insert of the medication or a medical certificate. If necessary, I can help you further with this. In that case, please contact me immediately?

No, the employer cannot prohibit this. In extreme cases, when this disrupts the work process, a solution must be sought in consultation with the ArboDienst. Of course, you never have to show the medication to the employer. That falls under privacy law. However, you must, if desired, contact the company doctor. If you have any further questions/problems, I advise you to contact a specialized lawyer.
