Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) declaration and legal consequences

Hello, I have a question about a VOG statement. I have a new job since September and was able to submit a VOG statement there. Now in August I committed a criminal offense of theft, which cost me my dismissal from my previous employer. Today I was questioned for this criminal offence and the public prosecutor will tell me what sentence I will receive. Now the police mentioned that this could have consequences for my Certificate of Good Conduct. But can this still be passed on to my current employer. Because when I entered employment I had not yet been questioned and there had been no conviction yet. This allowed me to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). I am now afraid that my current employer will hear about this from the justice department... Is this possible????? That a VOG can still be reversed. With kind regards.

To my knowledge, both the Ministry of Justice and the COVOG (the body responsible for VOG applications) do not contact employers in connection with your privacy. So if you have already been able to provide your employer with a VOG, this will probably not be a problem. However, problems may arise if you are convicted and you change jobs within four years (the standard look-back period used by the COVOG) or have to apply for a VOG again. In that case, the VOG will probably not be issued by the COVOG within these four years. Incidentally, if you are younger than 23, there is a look-back period of two years and you will probably be able to obtain a VOG again after two years. I should note that when assessing a VOG, several factors play a role and it cannot therefore be said in advance that a VOG will be refused for every position after committing a crime.

Thank you very much for answering my question... I am happy with this announcement... I was already afraid that the police/justice system would still report this to my new employer... But for privacy reasons I was in two battles about whether they were allowed to do this or not... With kind regards.
