Liability when purchasing parking spaces
Questioner
Question: I purchased a number of parking spaces (at buyer's expense) and had them simultaneously split up per parking space by the Land Registry. However, just before the transfer via the notary, the tax authorities seized the property from the selling party, which meant that the transfer could not take place. Now the notary wants to recover the costs of the land registry divisions from me. To what extent am I liable for this? Please advise.Lawyer
In the case of purchase costs buyer, it is likely that you are the client of the notary, so that he can indeed hold you liable for work he has done for you. You can of course in turn (try to) recover these costs from the seller. After all, he does not meet his obligation to deliver free of attachment towards you, so that you can recover the damage you suffer as a result from the buyer.Take the next step
