Legal Advice on Short-Time Working
Questioner
Have a job for a few hours a week and have been asked by my employer to temporarily work one day less because it is so quiet. Can I apply for unemployment benefits for this difference in hours or is there another pot for it?Lawyer
Apparently you do not have a min-max contract, but a fixed number of hours in your contract. Your employer can apply for a permit for temporary working time reduction via the UWV website. This permit is valid for a maximum of 6 weeks. This must involve at least 5 hours of work loss per week. Your employer will then continue to pay your salary, but will also receive your unemployment benefit.Take the next step
