Copy of ID and bank card: Is that allowed?

Questioner

Ir/Madam, I will soon be joining a new employer. In order to draw up my contract, the employer has asked for a copy of my ID card and my bank card. I have never before experienced that someone asked for a copy of my bank card. And now my question is: is that allowed? Are you as an employee obliged to provide such a copy? And in addition, I wondered whether it is allowed to write on both papers (so both the copy of the ID card and the copy of the bank card) that it is a copy, so that it cannot be misused.

Lawyer

Copy ID -> legally required. The (in)admissibility has been litigated up to the Supreme Court. The State has won. This may be a black/white copy (provided it is legible) and you may write 'copy' on it. Copy of bank card. The question is whether that is allowed? Sometimes an employer wants a copy to check whether the number and name match. People also find it useful. They can start a discussion about this in principle, but I would give a black and white copy of the front. Of course you can put the word 'copy' on the copy
