Answering legal questions about IOW benefits
Questioner
Dear Sir/Madam, Is the pension of an ex-partner deducted from an IOW benefit? If not, where can I find this on a site or in the law book to be prepared for the UwvLawyer
This falls under your income in my opinion and therefore it is deducted from the IOW benefit. For more information I refer you to the website of the central government: https://www.rijksoverheid.nl/onderwerpen/ Benefit-oudere-werklozen-ioaw-iow-ioaz/question-en-answer/kom-ik-in-aanmerking-voor-een-iow- BenefitQuestioner
Hello Mr. Radstaat, I can't do much with your answer: on 28 March 2016, the same question was asked to you on this forum, I now read. You gave the questioner the following answer, I quote: 'No, only your own income is taken into account for the IOW benefit'. This is contradictory to the answer you gave me. What is the correct answer now? Will ex-partner's pension now be reduced or not from the IOW benefit?Lawyer
I see no contradiction in my answers. If you had a partner with income, this income would not affect your benefit. However, you yourself have income from your ex-partner's pension. This is considered your own income, which is therefore important for the amount of your benefit.Take the next step
