Legal advice on health insurance after divorce
Questioner
I divorced my ex-wife a few years ago. During the marriage, we were on 1 family policy of the health insurance. After the marriage, this policy was not yet divorced and she spent her own contribution costs of 500 euros. I received the invoice from the health insurance (because I am the main insured) with this large amount on it. She doesn't want to pay for this, because she claims that she didn't get the bill, but I did. The costs were clearly made in her name (as shown on the invoice), but I am liable for this to the health insurance company (which is understandable). Can I reclaim these costs from my ex? (the personal contribution costs were therefore incurred a number of months after the marriage).Lawyer
Yes you can, that is called a recourse claim. You then do not pay a claim of another in order to satisfy it for that other. The amount is recoverable through the internal division of assets after the divorce. You can better change the policy.Take the next step
