Questioner

I have been put in default in the sale of my car: Opel Vivaro. They claim that I have tampered with the gearbox for the sale of my car. I have requested the entire workshop file from my garage about my car as proof that I DO NOT MESS WITH MY CAR. I have had it for 5 years and have driven it from 145000 to 301000 km. The new owner says that after 18 days the automatic gearbox no longer worked (properly?). His garage says that I have tampered with the gearbox and that the damage is over €4300 while the buyer paid €2900 for it. I can't believe I have to pay for this. I feel partly morally but not legally responsible, especially because I would have 'messed around'! What is wise? I have started writing a statement of defense, but what is the best way to approach this? Can you show me around?
