Legal Help for Bathroom Problems
Questioner
Around Easter I bought a bathroom from a kitchen and bathroom company. During the purchase conversation we verbally agreed that the company would deliver and install the bathroom for an agreed price. I signed a contract for the delivery. Some time later, a company came forward on behalf of the bathroom company, stating that they were going to install the bathroom. I signed the installation list contract with them. The company has now carried out the measurements. I have been in contact with this company on a regular basis about the start of the installation work. Each time I get the answer that they cannot say yet because the planning is not that far yet. However, I have been assured that the installation will start 'somewhere' in week 27. I have stated several times, in writing, that it is very important to me that the work is completed by 13 July. Completion after 13 July will entail costs for me because my house will then be rented out. This rental cannot take place if, as essential a part of a house as it is, a bathroom is missing. I know it's not yet week 27 but from the communication with both the supplying and installing company I suspect that the installation will take a long time. What steps can I take if the bathroom has not been installed in the short term and in any case before 13 July and who is my legal contact if the installation will lead to problems in terms of time and quality. Is that the supplier or the installation company sent by them?Lawyer
If the company does not meet its obligations at the agreed time, you can in principle hold this company liable for any damage after being put in default. If it is already known that the company will not meet its obligations, the company is in default and you can terminate the agreement with it. Your point of contact remains the supplier. In the event of damage, you can hold him or the company liable. If you cannot reach an agreement, I would be happy to look at your case.Take the next step
