Insurance cancelled? Discover your rights!

Questioner

I have a problem. I have an insurance package with them, which is collected monthly and there has never been a backlog. I also had legal expenses insurance, which was collected outside the package, it was reversed for whatever reason, when I received a letter from the company I read it but it completely escaped me, eventually I contacted the company because I had no payment reference, they gave it to me yesterday and this morning I paid immediately (unfortunately a month late). Now this morning I received a letter from the company that they temporarily stopped my package due to a payment arrears, I called immediately and explained that it was not about my package (contents, car and liability) but about an insurance that fell outside of this. The customer service employee told me that I should contact the regional office on Monday that I better not drive and that if something happened at home I would be out of luck. My question is, is the company allowed to cancel all insurances while they have been paid for? Or is the company in violation and are they only allowed to cancel the coverage of the insurance that is concerned, namely legal assistance?

I understand from your explanation that the legal expenses insurance has been reversed for some inexplicable reason and is not included in the package. The insurer cannot simply cancel all insurances while those payments have been made. So you are now insured for car damage, unless the policy conditions explicitly state that the package will be terminated in the event of arrears, but that seems unreasonable to me. I advise you to file a complaint with the insurer. If a dispute arises with the insurer, please contact me so that I can look into your case.

I have filed the complaint with my insurer, my car is currently also registered with the RDW as uninsured. And with the insurer I can't get any further, they only told me that I have a problem if something happens now and that I should have prevented this better so it is actually my problem we wait until it is in and then it will take at least another day before I am insured again.

Please wait for the insurer's response first and depending on that you can contact me directly for consultation if desired. To do so, click on the link next to this answer.
