someone hires a lawyer about various matters. But has never contacted me about this before that time. Is that possible?

Could you please elaborate on your question? It is difficult to answer this way.

Company hires lawyer and states that I am no longer allowed to have contact with staff or disclose information about the company. I have never signed anything with this company about this. Now do not email or phone me, but via lawyer

With your explanation it is possible to answer. Without that explanation it would not have been possible.

Are you employed by the company? If so, do you have a non-competition or confidentiality clause? If not, what is your relationship with that company? Even apart from a clause, you may not make unlawful statements about a company. Whether that is the case I can only judge after taking note of all the facts. Contact is via lawyer/ If so, you should contact your lawyer. Are you dissatisfied with your lawyer -> find another one. If you do not have a lawyer, contact a specialized lawyer as soon as possible. When both parties have a lawyer, the contact always goes through those lawyers. That is normal. Before a company hires a lawyer, it is polite to contact you first. However, this is not necessary. However, this can play a (cost) role in a possible procedure.

Okay, thanks. I don't have a lawyer and I'm not going to start one. I will email their lawyer back. Thanks for your response
