Dear, I have a part-time job of 20 hours a week and own my own home. My age is 60 years and my salary is below assistance standard. I have been eating into my assets for years now. Am I eligible for an IOAW benefit?

You can only qualify for an IOAW benefit if you first received an unemployment benefit and the term of this unemployment benefit has expired. If you did not receive an unemployment benefit, you could at most qualify for a social assistance benefit (Participation Act). In that case, however, your assets will be taken into account.
