Legal advice on dismissal and hourly contracts

Questioner

Good afternoon, Here are my questions. After almost 24 years it looks like the branch where I work part-time is going to close. Now my boss also has another branch, so I asked if he had any work for me there, but this would only be half of my hours that are in my contract and I think that is too little. Is he obliged to offer me the same number of hours as stated in my contract(18)? And if he cannot do this, should a severance arrangement be made? thank you in advance

Lawyer

When your employer closes a branch, he will have to reorganize and depending on the specific circumstances, it must be determined who stays and who does not. For those who have to make way, a dismissal permit must be requested and if that is you, you are probably entitled to a transition payment. If desired, I can help you with this.
