Building insurance: Are the consequences of damage covered?
Questioner
Hello, I have a question about building insurance. I had a crack in my concrete/granite floor in the shower, which caused flooding for the downstairs neighbors. So bad that the ceiling had to be replaced. Should this be covered by the building insurance? And what could be the reason that they refuse to pay this?Lawyer
In principle yes, but that depends on the general terms and conditions. One reason could be that the damage was caused by the person's own fault. Furthermore, the damage to the person who caused it is not covered by the building insurance.Take the next step
