Can I continue to live in social housing while I buy a home? Due to my economic situation, I moved into social housing in 2014. The rent is now above the rental limit. (718,= basic rent.) I do not receive any housing benefit. Now, due to a divorce and an inheritance, I receive a lot of money with which I could buy another home, but which would be too small for my children to move into. I would like to continue living in the current rental home with my children and rent out the home I bought. So I will remain registered in the rental home and not register for the owner-occupied home. So that when the children have left home, I can live there myself and cancel the social housing. Is that allowed?Lawyer
You live crooked, that is a fact that housing associations and the legislator and perhaps also residents are concerned about. You would not be the first to be confronted with a report from an anonymous resident if you let your children live there and not yourself or also if people know that you live crooked. Termination of the lease is the direct consequence. Whether you want to take this risk is something you have to assess yourself. So it is not allowed.Take the next step
