Help with legal questions about handyman services
Questioner
Dear, A handyman company only partially completed a gutter renovation: 25% of the work was not done. Despite all sorts of empty promises, no constructive action can be expected from this person two years after payment for the job. I have a copy in which my payment to him for this work is documented. I have an extensive email exchange in which many promises are made, but ultimately nothing is fulfilled. Can I report this person to the police? I am currently awaiting a claim from my side, but have little confidence. Can I possibly go to a collection agency with my claim? I would like to hear from you. Kind regards, FvdHLawyer
Reporting this is of little use. It seems that you are not being taken seriously by the company. A letter from a lawyer may be able to make progress in the matter regarding the execution of the job. As for the claim, you can go to a collection agency after a reminder. I can also help you with the latter if desired. If you want help, please contact me directly.Lawyer
First, send a clear notice of default with the date of the past plus default plus liability for the damage, and termination because the trust has been lost and because of the default (date of the past after the contractor has lost his chances of recovery). You must send the letter by registered mail and give two weeks to pay the amount that you still think you can claim from him. After that, a debt collection procedure and summons are possible. I want and can help you with all steps.Take the next step
