Legal advice on recovery of training costs
Questioner
Hello, Sorry for the English. I will make my story short. The CEO of the company I work for offered me training. I took his offering. I didn't sign anything. Few months later, new Management Team came and old was gone. When they found out about the training they wanted me to sign for it. I didn't but my manager did. Now I am leaving and they are asking for the money from the training. Question 1: Do I have a case? Question 2: How much will it cost me to pursue this legally? Thank you.Lawyer
When nothing was agreed about paying back at the moment you made arrangements with the company about the training, then you don't have to pay back. The company can't just change that on their own. You ask about pursuing the case legally. Normally I would say that the company would have to start a procedure to get the money from you. But because of your question, I suspect they may have taken the training fee out of your salary, is that correct? In that case it would indeed be you who has the claim. Please let me know the exact circumstances and we can discuss your options and their costs.Take the next step
