Apply for a dormer window permit? Get advice!
Questioner
I placed a dormer window on the front of my house last year. And I was so stupid not to apply for a permit for it, because someone said it was no longer necessary. I now read that it really has to be done, are there any possibilities for me to turn this right? Possibly a fine or other possibilities? I would like to hear from you.Lawyer
You can still apply for the permit from the municipality and request that the currently illegal situation be legalised. However, this does entail the risk that if the municipality finds the dormer window at the front undesirable, you will have to demolish the dormer window. This demolition cannot be prevented by paying a fine. The situation can either be legalised and then you will probably only have to pay the building fees for the application for a building permit (environmental permit) or you will have to demolish (the municipality can demand this under penalty of a penalty). It could also be that the dormer window can be retained in a modified form (legalised) and then you will have to adapt the dormer window.Take the next step
