Legal questions about property transfer

Questioner

My brother is single and has a house that is too big for him. Despite the fact that he can continue to afford it financially, he wants to get rid of this house and transfer it to me (his brother). He would like to continue living in this house (possibly until his death). Is it possible to take over this house from him in the form of a promissory note so that no inheritance tax has to be paid in the event of death? What is the best and easiest way to approach this? Is it necessary to also record some things in a will; we still have 3 sisters. Awaiting your response.

Lawyer

It is possible that your brother will sell the house to you at a reduced price and that he will retain the usufruct and also the right to continue living in part of the house. Do you have any questions? Please feel free to ask. If you wish, you can contact me directly.
