Hello reader, A while ago I was approached by a company with a 'fantastic' offer for a new energy contract. I accepted it at the time, which I now regret. This offer turned out to be anything but fantastic. I would therefore like to get rid of it. It concerns a 4-year contract that, according to the company, is a business contract in the name of my company. Now it so happens that my company is no longer active. Can I get out of this contract by deregistering my company from the Chamber of Commerce? Kind regards

You cannot get rid of a possible binding agreement by simply deregistering your company from the trade register. What is relevant is why you want to get rid of the agreement and whether there are possibilities for this. This will also have to be apparent from the contractual terms and conditions.
