Legal assistance with private leasing | Ask for advice

Questioner

Hello My situation is as follows. I am at a car dealership to private lease a car. Now they ask for an overview of my bank account for a full month. Everything must be visible on this. Not the amount, but the description. Is this allowed? Initially, they only wanted to see that salary is being deposited and the mortgage is being written off, so I had blacked out all other information. Then I got the answer that this is not allowed. They want to be able to see everything. I find that very strange.

Lawyer

In principle, the dealer may request guarantees regarding the lease agreement. This must be reasonable and your privacy may not be compromised. I advise you to point out to the dealer that you are satisfied with crossing out the account statement and also to ask if there are other ways to demonstrate your financial capacity. If you cannot (yet) reach an agreement, I will look into your case.
